2. JOB PURPOSE:
To teach and coach employees in applying lean, six sigma and quality concepts to enhance their productivity and problem solving skills
3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Management of annual training plans
Conducts training needs analysis for Company sites relating to Lean, Quality & Six Sigma Concepts.
Prepares the Lean manufacturing, Quality & Six Sigma training program according to the department needs and plant guidelines and measure its effectiveness.
Training Coordination
Coordinates with Human Resources the preparation and delivery of the agreed annual training plan.
Training delivery
Delivers training on Lean manufacturing, Quality & Six Sigma to all company Staff.
Documentation Management
Maintains a documented inventory of training which includes requirements and curriculum and ensures that an accurate database of training is maintained for all employees.
Guarantee Effectiveness
Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of training and develops appropriate training solutions / changes to ensure a high level of competence in Lean manufacturing, Quality and Six Sigma of Company Site personnel.Mentor and coach Lean practioners in their development and transformation to Lean culture
Budget
Provides input (external training requirements, consumables, spares, visuals, tools.) to the annual budget of the department for training on Lean , Quality & Six Sigma concepts.
KPIs and Reporting
Submits periodic reports to departmental management on the status of the training programs. Analyzes trends and makes recommendations for improvement.
Submits periodic reports to departmental management on number of improvement/productivity projects initiated post training
Continuous Improvement
Identifies deficiencies within the Lean, Quality & Six Sigma training program for the purpose of developing and implementing enhancements/improvements
4. AUTHORITY/ DECISION MAKING:
Ensures that training modules are linked with company business strategy.
Ensures training is conducted as per the schedule. (Meeting training deadlines is an important task.)
The job holder works under minimal supervision and keeps the management updated at all times whilst consulting him/her on any areas of decision making, approvals, signing of contracts and general feedback.
5. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or in Engineering from an internationally recognised university in science or related field.
Six Sigma Black Belt
Lead Auditor certificate in ISO 9001.
Auditor certificate in other Management Systems also preferable
Minimum Experience:
3 years’ experience in auditing ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, preferably within the aluminium smelter industry or heavy manufacturing industry or Automotive.
At least 5 years Operations experience in a Lean & Six Sigma Manufacturing environment working with employees and external agencies and a minimum of 3 years delivering and implementing the Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.
Thorough knowledge of Lean Management System, Lean Tools and concepts.
Strong skills in developing training modules and training delivery.
Well-developed communication, presentation and written skills in English.
Good computer literacy.
Accomplished ability in public speaking.
Experience with electronic management systems such as SAP, intranet, etc.
