We are seeking an operationally driven, analytically minded and detail orientated Senior System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have broad experience as a System Administrator role, have excellent attention to detail. The main focus of the role is to oversee the system administration within the organization and to identify improvements and implement changes to ensure operational viability and enhance stability.

Job Brief

We are seeking an operationally driven, analytically minded and detail orientated Senior System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have broad experience as a System Administrator role, have excellent attention to detail. The main focus of the role is to oversee the system administration within the organization and to identify improvements and implement changes to ensure operational viability and enhance stability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and configure internal systems to ensure optimum performance.
• Provide troubleshooting assistance and help with diagnosing technical issues within the system.
• Identify the need for updates and upgrades and implement them to the infrastructure components.
• Research and install the best fixes or batches along with the installation of systems and their upgrades.
• Assist with the mentoring of new system users and set up accounts and grant relevant access and permissions to the users.
• Constantly monitor and oversee the performance of servers, backup jobs and running systems to ensure they are operating at an optimum level.
• Ensure that new applications are integrated and deployed across the business efficiently and seamlessly.
• Ensure technical documentation is up-to-date and stored in an organized manner for future reference.
• Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions that will make a hands-off environment.
• Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance.
• Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.
• Carry out special tasks at Management's direction & any other duties as assigned.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related fields.
• 10+ years of work experience as a Senior Systems Administrator preferably with supervisory experience in the role
• Hands-on experience with Virtualization as well as a good understanding of VMWare cloud director & Microsoft Azure.
• Good understanding of system security and different techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to break down problems from the root cause.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with users of all levels and explain complex technical information into simple and understandable terms.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze large volumes of data and identify trends and patterns.
• Microsoft Certification (MCSE) or equivalent certification in relevant programs desired.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows & Linux OS (all versions).
• Managing in excess of 1000 Windows & Linux Server infrastructure.
• Solid knowledge about Dell SourceOne and Object storage setup.
• Managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX or Microsoft HyperV/Virtual Server.
• Group Policy design and configuration.
• Microsoft IIS, Apache, NGINX administration and configuration.
• Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration.
• Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length.
• Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently.
  
  

Skills & Experiences

• Expertise in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and security components. Knowledge of cloud-native services such as EC2, S3, VPC, Kubernetes, IAM, and CloudFormation/Terraform for automation.
• Hands-on experience in migrating on-premise workloads to the cloud, managing hybrid infrastructures, and optimizing cloud architecture for cost and performance.
• Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
• Experience in building and maintaining repeatable and scalable infrastructure templates for faster deployment cycles and reduced human error.
• Solid understanding of networking principles (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, VPNs, load balancing, firewalls) and cloud-specific security practices (e.g., identity management, encryption, security groups).
• Designing and implementing secure, scalable network architectures in the cloud, with experience in managing VPCs, subnets, hybrid connectivity, and secure access management.
• Strong background in systems administration for Linux and Windows servers, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Managing and scaling server infrastructure, orchestrating containerized applications, and leveraging cloud-native services like Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams, communicate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
• Leading cloud migration projects, optimizing systems for high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Experience in guiding teams through technical challenges and ensuring solutions are aligned with business goals.
