SUMMARY:
Under little to no supervision the Business Intelligence Developer provides support for all Business Intelligence initiatives. Areas of responsibility include Database Management, Report Creation, Advanced Analyses and Project Management. The BI Developer will serve as a technical expert and may serve as a mentor for less experienced co-workers. This position will require extensive knowledge of data structure as well as advanced SQL coding ability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Database Management:- Manage clean data systems for the BI team including complex ETL processes, SSIS packages and SQL Agent Jobs.
- Partner with Technology teams to ingest and configure data sources following standard database theory and design for optimal functionality
- Database mapping
- Creates streamlined tables, views, indexes for faster development while maintaining accuracy
- Reviews and maintains SQL functions, stored procedures
Report Creation:
- Ability to create and support complex SQL queries for data aggregation
- Create effective reports (Power BI) using data visualization techniques
- Modify existing reports using data visualization techniques to simplify results
- Identifies manual processes in reporting and assists in projects to automate
- Subject matter expert on specified systems or applications and provides technical assistance to BI team members and end user if necessary
Advanced Analyses:- Knowledge of statistical methodologies for data cleaning and data preparation
- Familiarity working with large datasets across multiple sources
- Use mathematical and analytical skills to identify business trends, marketing shifts and provide insight to credit union performance.
Project Management:- Conducts research and defines project scope and objectives. Works directly with department personnel and other departments within organization from concept through implementation with minimal guidance
- Create and maintain technical guidelines and procedures to ensure best technical practices are followed by entire department
- Present findings and reports to mid-level and non-management personnel throughout the organization
- Collaborate with business units, vendors, and technical staff to achieve business results.
REQUIRMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Statistics, Data Science or related field.
System/Program Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of databases and other research tools used to gather and interpret member/market data.
- Extensive SQL programming experience.
- Knowledge of database management and software configuration.
Experience:
- Eight plus years of related experience in programming, business analytics projects, application implementation, and database management.
- Financial service industry experience plus.

- Ability to operate with an analytical, data-driven mindset to derive actionable insights from data.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make advanced analytics concepts accessible to non-technical team members.
