Senior Systems Engineer

Position Scope

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the architecture, optimization, and support of enterprise financial and operational systems, with a primary focus on ERP, reporting infrastructure, and systems integration. This role serves as the bridge between Accounting, Operations, and Technology ensuring accurate data flow, scalable reporting, and continuous improvement of financial systems that support construction operations.


Location & Travel:
This is an on-site position in our Fargo, ND office.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as ERP system owner and subject matter expert.
  • Manage system configuration, enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Partner with accounting and operations leadership to improve system performance and reporting capabilities.
  • Support AP, AR, payroll, job costing, financial statements, and project accounting workflows.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports
  • Build scalable reporting solutions that improve financial visibility and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across systems.
  • Lead integrations between ERP and other internal systems (HRIS, project management, field systems, etc.).
  • Support automation opportunities and eliminate manual processes.
  • Support BI initiatives and data quality improvements.
  • Document system processes and technical solutions.
  • Deliver ERP training to accounting and operations teams.
  • Act as a liaison between technical vendors and internal stakeholders.


Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting ERP systems in construction or project-based industries.
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and job costing.
  • Proven ability to bridge accounting operations and technical system capabilities.
  • Experience with BI tools and systems integrations preferred.
