JOB MISSION: To provide technical support and direction on manufacturing techniques and process during all phases of product development, commercialization and production to ensure products meet or exceed company standards and/or consumer expectations for fit, aesthetic value and structural integrity.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Act as technical resource for design, development and merchandising for footwear construction new concept ideas and product enhancements
- Attend all product development meetings to offer technical support and direction
- Review development samples seasonally, note all technical corrections and fit assessment, communicate direction to global team and source factory
- Attend all fit-related sessions and provide direction to global technical managers
- Work to improve fit and comfort consistency between countries / factories
- Maintain guidelines of global fit standards and process
- Ensure consistency in comfort package, construction and materials globally, establish and monitor comfort standards
- Assist in training developers in technical area, improve product tech packs sent to factories for proto development.
- Partner to enhance and improve PI specification details for components, materials and finish.
- Establish, document and drive the use of standards for construction and manufacturing methods
- Manage wear test program in NY office, assimilating all feedback and make necessary corrections or recommendations
- Travel to source factories, global offices as needed to monitor, evaluate technical managers and process
- To be available for deployment for special projects or critical situations
- Assist in developing strategies and processes that support the technical / quality department and corporate goals
- Continually evaluate and improve all technical / quality related processes
Requirements:
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 10+ years working in footwear related industry
- Exposure and in-depth working knowledge of all footwear development and manufacturing departments
- In depth, knowledge of all footwear supporting industries
- Must have a background in pattern and last making
- Complete working knowledge of fit procedures
- Full knowledge of women's footwear pattern types and constructions
- Full knowledge of all supporting industry, molds, outsoles, tucks, shanks, insoles, heels, alternative materials, etc.
- Occasional refinishing or repairing of products required, which will require the use of hand tools, finishing brushes and buffing machines
- Capable of managing, directing and training a wide and diverse group of individuals
- Manage in country technical and quality staff, primarily focusing on India and China

Base Salary/Hourly Range: From $140,000 to $160,000 annually*
Bonus Eligibility: Yes, eligible for annual target bonus based on company and individual performance
