The Senior Technical / Project Lead is a high-impact position responsible for providing end-to-end technical leadership and comprehensive execution oversight for complex, multi-disciplinary projects. The scope covers major technical domains including automation (PLC/SCADA, RTUs), electrical systems (MCC/VFD, power distribution), instrumentation, mechanical, and civil elements.
This role acts as the primary technical authority, ensuring all engineering deliverables, on-site execution, testing, and commissioning activities are completed strictly according to specifications, contractual obligations, and stringent international standards (IEC, NEC, ATEX, API).
-
Design Approval: Lead and guide engineering teams in reviewing and approving technical submittals, designs, and drawings across all project disciplines: automation, electrical, MCCs/VFDs, and I&C systems.
-
Standard Enforcement: Ensure rigorous compliance with governing standards such as IEC, NEC, ATEX, ISO, and API throughout the project lifecycle.
-
Expertise Provision: Serve as the subject matter expert, providing technical guidance on PLC/SCADA, RTUs, MCC panels, motor control circuits, VFD programming/integration, field instrumentation, and power distribution.
-
On-Site Oversight: Oversee the successful on-ground execution of electrical installations, MCC/VFD wiring, load distribution, motor control setups, and system integration with automation platforms.
-
Testing & Commissioning: Manage and execute critical technical activities, including troubleshooting, loop checks, panel energization, motor run tests, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)/Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
-
Risk Mitigation: Proactively monitor execution risks and develop and implement effective mitigation plans to protect critical schedule commitments.
-
Quality Assurance: Ensure the installation and commissioning of all systems strictly adhere to approved QA/QC plans.
-
Technical Focal Point: Act as the main technical and execution focal point for critical external parties, including customers, consultants, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), and subcontractors.
-
Interface Management: Lead technical meetings, interface discussions, site inspections, and compliance reviews for all electrical and automation systems.
-
Procurement Liaison: Coordinate closely with procurement and planning teams to guarantee the timely availability of long-lead items such as MCCs, VFDs, panels, instruments, and cables.
-
Deliverable Management: Ensure the timely preparation and finalization of crucial technical reports, test sheets, MCC/VFD configuration records, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and commissioning documents.
-
Governance: Guarantee strict adherence to all contractual requirements, site safety protocols, and internal project governance standards.
-
Supervision & Mentorship: Supervise and mentor execution teams, including electrical supervisors, automation engineers, technicians, and fitters.
-
Resource Allocation: Manage and optimize manpower allocation across parallel workstreams to ensure maximum productivity and execution quality.
-
Culture: Promote a culture of technical rigor, safety discipline, and accountability within the execution team.
