Role Overview
As a Test Equipment Engineer, you will design, develop, and sustain advanced industrial-grade assembly and test equipment to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing operations. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and compliance of our robotic surgical systems and associated accessories.
Key Responsibilities
Design, install, and maintain industrial control systems and test equipment.
Develop and assemble electrical and electromechanical modules and systems.
Support NPI and manufacturing teams by delivering high-quality assembly and test solutions.
Research emerging technologies and create test equipment from concept to production release.
Build prototypes and develop test fixtures for conceptual designs.
Document specifications, requirements, and compliance standards.
Troubleshoot complex malfunctions and resolve technical challenges.
Ensure adherence to project schedules and priorities.
Lead compliance and safety testing for electrical, mechanical, and optical systems.
Create, modify, and maintain hardware and software for new and revised products.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and sales during product development.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
At least two to four years of experience in a regulated industry (medical device experience preferred).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing principles and project management.
Proficiency in problem-solving tools (Green Belt preferred) and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab).
Programming experience (Python3 preferred).
Familiarity with servos, actuators, industrial I/O devices, pneumatics, and robotics.
CAD knowledge (SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD preferred).
Six Sigma and process excellence methodologies.
Preferred Skills
Business and financial acumen.
Strong presentation and collaboration skills.
