Senior Traffic SME

We are looking for a Senior Traffic Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Transport & Infrastructure team for a major project based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia . This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all traffic engineering and traffic management aspects during the construction and operational phases of a large-scale transport infrastructure project.

• Lead the review, approval, and supervision of temporary and permanent traffic management plans and detour strategies.
• Ensure traffic management designs are compliant with local standards , project-specific requirements , and international best practices .
• Coordinate with municipal authorities , contractors , and traffic enforcement for successful implementation of traffic diversions and staging.
• Monitor and supervise on-site implementation of traffic control measures, ensuring safety and minimal disruption to road users.
• Identify and mitigate traffic-related risks , and support interface coordination across multiple contractors and project zones.
• Provide strategic guidance on traffic flow optimization , congestion reduction, and public access during construction.
• Lead the development of incident response plans and ensure emergency access routes are maintained at all times.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to capacity building within the project team.
• Prepare and present technical reports, dashboards, and briefings to project stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering , Traffic Engineering , or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in traffic engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or SME-level role .
• Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure or transport projects within Saudi Arabia or the GCC .
• Strong knowledge of KSA regulatory frameworks , including MOT , Riyadh Municipality , and Royal Commission standards.
• Expertise in temporary traffic management (TTM) , construction staging , and traffic impact mitigation .
• Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD , Synchro , SIDRA , VISSIM , or similar tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English ; Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience coordinating with public sector authorities , contractors , and multidisciplinary supervision teams .
