Due to budget restrictions the rate for this position will not exceed $28.00.
Why does the job exist?

The Senior Training and Development Coordinator (DWS Trainer) position is to plan and administer training and professional development programs that improve the skills and knowledge of stakeholders in the workforce system who frequently request technical assistance and professional development training(s).
How does it get done?

  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews and/or consultations with stakeholder groups requesting training(s).
  • Knowledge of Unemployment Insurance Laws and Regulations.
  • Research, design and develops curriculum and course content, microlearning, and online learning modules, course materials, and training manuals.
  • Review training materials from multiple sources and choose appropriate materials.
  • Deliver training to NM DWS staff, and customers using a variety of instructional techniques.
  • Assist in evaluating and collecting data on training programs.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment through the Bridge LMS, Canvas LMS, Blackboard (Bb) LMS and Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) system.
  • Collaborate and connect formally and informally with colleagues, experts, and mentors.

Customers include: NMDWS staff, NM's America's Job Centers (AJCs), Local Workforce Development Boards (LWDB), Businesses, and Employers, state agencies, the public, and job seekers.
Ideal Candidate

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in any field and two (2) years of experience in adult education, instructional design, instructional technology, human resources, employee development, training, and/or producing instructional aid/materials. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
