Position Objectives:

Hiring for Senior Transport Consultant to join our network team within a telecom operator environment.

Responsible for overseeing day-to-day design activities, coordinating with multiple vendors, and ensuring that all microwave links are planned, designed, and maintained in line with defined standards and requirements.

Support live network operations, expansions, and upgrades across the transmission infrastructure.
Job Description & Responsibilities:

Lead the planning and design of access transport network infrastructure (fiber, microwave, wireless) to support current and future service demands.

Analyze network requirements and develop detailed, scalable, and reliable access transport solutions aligned with business objectives.

Prepare accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) documents, including material lists, specifications, and cost estimates to support procurement and deployment.

Ensure all network designs adhere to technical standards, industry best practices, and regulatory compliance.

Coordinate with multiple vendors to review, validate, and approve their proposed designs.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as RF engineers, core network teams, operations, and vendors to facilitate seamless integration.

Monitor daily microwave design-related tasks and address any issues impacting project timelines.

Analyze link performance and propose enhancements or reconfigurations when needed.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and engineering teams.

Participate in capacity planning exercises and contribute to long-term network infrastructure strategies.

Maintain and update the design database, ensuring accurate records of implemented changes.

Participate in regular meetings with vendors and internal teams to track progress and resolve blockers.

Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and operational requirements in all designs.

Experience working directly within an operator environment.

Strong interpersonal skills for managing vendor relations and internal communications.

Familiarity with database management and version control for network design data.

Ability to work under pressure and handle simultaneous tasks effectively.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

15+ years of experience in microwave design and planning, preferably within a telecom operator.

Expertise in mobile and transport telecommunication systems.
-
Strong capabilities in planning and budget control, with a focus on cost-saving and revenue improvement.

Hands-on experience with design tools such as Teoco Connect, Pathloss, or equivalent.

Proven experience in multi-vendor environments (e.g., Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, ZTE, Aviat).

Excellent understanding of RF fundamentals, link budget analysis, frequency planning, and E-band/long-haul technologies.

Strong documentation and report-writing skills & consultation skills for new technologies.

Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken); proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable
