Senior VAT Accountant

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior VAT Accountant to join our Doha team. This role is responsible for managing VAT compliance activities, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting tax efficiency across business operations in line with Qatar’s regulatory framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns in compliance with Qatar tax regulations
• Ensure accurate VAT accounting, reconciliation, and documentation across transactions
• Monitor VAT legislation updates and assess their impact on business operations
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to VAT accounts
• Review invoices and transactions to ensure correct VAT treatment
• Assist in VAT audits and coordinate responses with tax authorities
• Identify VAT risks and recommend process improvements for compliance efficiency
• Collaborate with finance teams to enhance reporting accuracy and internal controls
• Maintain organized VAT records and supporting documentation

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CTA, or equivalent) preferred
• Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in VAT or tax accounting roles
• Strong understanding of Qatar VAT regulations and compliance requirements
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and accounting principles
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
