We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure Specialist with 10–15+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing enterprise virtualization, cloud, storage, backup, and disaster recovery environments. The role requires extensive hands-on expertise in VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, Azure Cloud, enterprise storage, backup technologies, and infrastructure modernization.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring high availability, business continuity, infrastructure security, and operational excellence while supporting enterprise digital transformation initiatives.
- Design, deploy, configure, and administer VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi and vCenter.
- Manage VMware vSAN clusters and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), including Dell VxRail.
- Perform virtual machine lifecycle management, including provisioning, cloning, snapshot management, migrations (P2V/V2V), and decommissioning.
- Configure and maintain VMware High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and Fault Tolerance (FT).
- Manage VMware networking components, including Standard vSwitches, Distributed Virtual Switches (DVS), VMkernel adapters, and VLAN configurations.
- Perform ESXi host and vCenter upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Monitor infrastructure health and optimize performance using VMware vRealize Operations or equivalent monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot virtualization platform issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Install, configure, administer, and support Microsoft Windows Server (2008 R2–2022).
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and authentication services.
- Configure and administer Windows Failover Clustering for Hyper-V and SQL Server.
- Manage enterprise file services, DFS, print services, and NTFS permissions.
- Administer Hyper-V virtualization environments.
- Perform server patching, upgrades, and security hardening.
- Support enterprise server platforms, including HPE Synergy, C7000, and Dell PowerEdge.
- Deploy and administer enterprise backup platforms, including Veeam, Commvault, Cohesity, and Dell Networker.
- Configure VMware-aware and application-aware backup solutions.
- Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure successful recovery testing.
- Develop and maintain enterprise backup strategies and operational documentation.
- Implement and support disaster recovery solutions using VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and Zerto.
- Coordinate disaster recovery drills and validate recovery objectives.
- Administer enterprise SAN and NAS storage platforms.
- Configure storage pools, RAID groups, LUNs, and VMware datastores (VMFS/NFS).
- Manage enterprise storage solutions, including Dell EMC, Unity, Pure Storage, and HPE 3PAR/MSA.
- Monitor storage performance, optimize capacity utilization, and perform storage migrations.
- Deploy and administer Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Machine Scale Sets, and Azure networking.
- Configure Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), NSGs, VPN Gateways, Load Balancers, and Azure Firewall.
- Manage Azure Storage services, including Blob Storage, Managed Disks, and Azure Files.
- Monitor Azure infrastructure using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Advisor.
- Implement cloud governance and security using Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Azure Policy.
- Configure Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and Azure Update Manager.
- Support enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Configure VLANs, switch ports, routing, and network segmentation.
- Administer Cisco switches and routers.
- Configure VPN connectivity, firewall policies, and network security controls.
- Lead infrastructure modernization, virtualization, cloud migration, and transformation projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with networking, database, cybersecurity, DevOps, and application teams.
- Perform infrastructure capacity planning and technology lifecycle management.
- Participate in major incident response and on-call support rotations.
- Recommend improvements to enhance infrastructure performance, scalability, security, and resilience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 10–15+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure and virtualization.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale, multi-site enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with VMware, Windows Server, Azure, storage, backup, and disaster recovery technologies.
