Job Title: Senior Waiter / Captain Waiter
Starting Salary: SAR 2,300 to SAR 2,500 plus FREE shared room, transportation, and 1 duty meal

Role Brief: The Senior Waiter / Captain Waiter is a leadership position at the heart of the front-of-house operation, responsible for orchestrating an impeccable dining experience that reflects the prestige and refinement of our luxury café in Riyadh. Acting as the primary point of contact for guests throughout their visit, the Captain Waiter takes ownership of a designated section, guides junior team members, and ensures every service moment is executed with confidence, warmth, and precision. This role demands an experienced hospitality professional who combines deep product knowledge with natural leadership, a composed demeanour under pressure, and an unwavering commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of an assigned section, managing the complete guest journey from greeting and seating through to settlement of the bill, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience at every stage.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor junior waiters and food runners within the section, delegating tasks effectively, monitoring performance during service, and providing real-time guidance to uphold service standards.
- Demonstrate an expert-level knowledge of the full menu — including seasonal specials, preparation methods, ingredients, allergen information, and beverage pairings — and use this knowledge to make thoughtful, personalised recommendations to guests.
- Manage guest reservations and table allocations for the assigned section in coordination with the host team, anticipating covers and preparing the floor accordingly to ensure a smooth service flow.
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests with composure and professionalism, resolving issues swiftly and escalating to management only when necessary, always prioritising guest satisfaction.
- Conduct pre-service briefings with the section team, communicating daily specials, VIP covers, dietary requirements, and any operational updates from management to ensure full team alignment.
- Accurately process orders, manage billing procedures, and handle point-of-sale operations with full accountability, ensuring zero discrepancies in order accuracy and payment settlement.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive front-of-house experience in a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or high-end specialty café, with at least 1 year in a senior or supervisory service capacity.
- Fluency in English is essential; strong conversational Arabic is highly preferred, with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously with both local and international guests.
- Valid residency and work authorisation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with full flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and Saudi public holidays as required by operational demand.
