Senior WordPress Developer

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior WordPress Developer to lead the development, customization, and optimization of our WordPress-based web properties. The ideal candidate will be fluent in modern WordPress development practices, with deep expertise in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. They will also bring strong version control skills with Git and have practical experience working in WP Engine hosting environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, and maintenance of custom WordPress themes, plugins, and integrations.
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Manage version control, branching, and deployment workflows using Git.
• Optimize site performance, security, and scalability on WP Engine.
• Collaborate with designers, content teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital experiences.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional WordPress development experience.
• Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Expertise in Git workflows (branching, merging, pull requests).
• Hands-on experience with WP Engine or similar managed WordPress hosting platforms.
• Solid understanding of web security, performance optimization, and SEO best practices.
• Ability to work independently as well as mentor junior developers.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $75.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
