The Position
We are looking for a highly skilled Mid–Senior WordPress Developer to join our development team. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing WordPress websites with a strong emphasis on performance, custom functionality, clean architecture, and long-term scalability.
This role requires someone who understands the full WordPress ecosystem, including custom theme development, plugin customization, WooCommerce, API integrations, and modern development workflows.
You will work closely with UI/UX, backend, and product teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences for a wide range of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch using modern best practices.
- Maintain and enhance existing WordPress sites, ensuring optimum performance and security.
- Implement responsive, mobile-first UI components using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, and frameworks when needed.
- Configure and customize WooCommerce (product variations, custom checkout, integrations, etc.).
- Integrate REST APIs and build custom functionality that connects WordPress with external systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve WordPress issues (performance, plugin conflicts, cross-browser issues).
- Work with version control (Git), staging environments, and deployment workflows.
- Collaborate with designers and backend developers to translate designs and requirements into working features.
- Write clean, documented, reusable, and scalable code.
- Understand and apply SEO, schema markup, caching strategies, and database optimization where needed.
Required Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of professional experience building and maintaining WordPress websites.
- Strong proficiency in:
- PHP & WordPress core functions
- Custom theme & plugin development
- HTML5 / CSS3 / JavaScript
- MySQL / database structure
- Git / GitHub workflows
- Experience with WooCommerce customization.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and building custom endpoints.
- Understanding of site performance optimization (GTmetrix, Core Web Vitals).
- Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and manage tasks efficiently.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Familiarity with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
- Experience with Elementor, Gutenberg Blocks, or custom block development.
- Knowledge of headless WordPress (REST API, GraphQL) is a plus.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Experience with security hardening and WordPress DevOps practices.
- Experience working with multi-site environments.
