We are seeking a proactive and experienced SEO Freelancer to support our digital marketing team in improving organic search visibility, driving qualified traffic, and increasing conversions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing SEO strategies across content, technical, and link-building domains, and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive SEO audits (technical, content, on-page, off-page) to identify opportunities and issues.
- Develop and execute SEO strategies aligned with business goals (e.g., increasing organic traffic, improving rankings for target keywords, boosting conversions).
- Perform keyword research and competitive analysis to identify content and optimization opportunities.
- Optimize website content (metadata, headings, internal linking, images, schema, etc.) for search engines and user experience.
- Coordinate with content creators to ensure SEO best-practices are embedded in new/existing content (blog posts, landing pages, product pages).
- Oversee and implement technical SEO fixes: site-speed improvements, mobile optimization, crawlability, indexation, structured data, canonicalization, and redirects.
- Build and manage high-quality link-building campaigns and partnerships to improve domain authority and backlink profile.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on SEO performance metrics (organic traffic, rankings, conversions, bounce rate, etc.) using tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush/Ahrefs/Moz etc.
- Stay up-to-date with SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices, and proactively communicate implications and opportunities to the team.
- Provide recommendations and best-practice guidance to developers, designers, and content teams to support SEO initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in SEO (in-house or agency/freelance) with demonstrable results.
- Strong knowledge of SEO tools (Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush/Ahrefs/Moz/Screaming Frog etc.).
- Solid understanding of technical SEO and website architecture.
- Experience with keyword research, content optimization, and link-building strategies.
- Ability to interpret analytics data, generate insights, and translate them into actionable tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams (content, development, design).
- A results-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks/projects with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress), HTML/CSS basics, and best practices for mobile and page-speed performance.
- Knowledge of local SEO (if applicable), international SEO (if applicable), and e-commerce SEO (if applicable) is a plus.
Deliverables & KPIs
- Month-on-month improvement in organic traffic to targeted pages.
- Improved ranking positions for defined high-value keywords.
- Increase in conversions (or other business-driven metric) from organic channels.
- Monthly report summarising activity, wins, upcoming work, and roadblocks.
- Execution of at least X optimization tasks per month (audit fixes, content optimizations, link‐builds) — specify based on scope.
