SEO Lead

POSITION OVERVIEW

We’re looking for an SEO Lead to join the D2C growth team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will own organic traffic growth end-to-end combining hands-on execution with strategic thinking to build SEO into a high-impact acquisition channel. This role involves in-house execution, agency coordination, content requirement generation, and performance analysis, working directly with the Growth Lead on strategic direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Organic Traffic Growth

  • Own the organic traffic number target 20x current baseline over 18 months
  • Build and execute the keyword strategy across product, category, and informational pages
  • Identify and prioritize high-intent, commercially viable keyword clusters for menswear
  • Drive ranking improvements across head terms and long-tail opportunities

Technical SEO & Site Health

  • Audit and maintain technical SEO health: crawlability, indexation, site speed, schema markup, canonicalization
  • Manage SEO considerations during and post Shopify migration redirects, URL structure, indexation integrity
  • Coordinate with the Tech team on implementation of technical fixes and platform-level SEO requirements

Content Coordination

  • Generate content briefs and requirements based on keyword gaps and search intent mapping
  • Coordinate with the Content team to ensure SEO requirements are integrated into the editorial calendar
  • Own on-page optimization: meta tags, internal linking architecture, content structure, heading hierarchy

Agency Management

  • Manage SEO agency relationship: brief, review deliverables, hold accountable to timelines and outcomes
  • Translate agency recommendations into actionable internal tasks with clear ownership
  • Evaluate agency performance and recommend continuation, scope changes, or replacement

Analysis & Insights

  • Build and maintain SEO dashboards: traffic, rankings, CTR, indexed pages, backlink health
  • Generate weekly/monthly performance reports with clear insights and recommended actions
  • Conduct competitive SEO analysis identify gaps and opportunities vs. key menswear competitors
  • Connect SEO performance to business metrics: contribution to revenue, CAC impact, channel mix shift

REQUIREMENTS

Must Have

  • 2–5 years in SEO with at least 1 year in e-commerce (D2C or marketplace)
  • Demonstrated organic traffic growth show us the before/after with your contribution clearly defined
  • Proficiency with SEO tools: Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs/SEMrush, Screaming Frog
  • Strong grasp of technical SEO: site architecture, crawl optimization, schema, Core Web Vitals
  • Experience managing or coordinating with external SEO agencies
  • Ability to work independently take strategic direction and execute without daily oversight

Strong Preference

  • Experience with Shopify SEO understands platform constraints and workarounds
  • Experience with large-catalog SEO (1,000+ product pages)
  • Familiarity with fashion/apparel search behavior and seasonal keyword dynamics
  • Basic understanding of content production workflows — can write a brief that a writer can execute without back-and-forth.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

  • Not a content writer role you generate briefs and requirements, you don’t write 2,000-word articles
  • Not a reporting-only role insights must lead to action, not just dashboards
  • Not an agency-dependent role you own the outcome regardless of what the agency delivers
  • Not a siloed function SEO and connects to CRM, Merchandising, and Performance Marketing
