SEO Specialist / SEO Executive

SEO Strategy & Planning

Job Title: SEO Specialist
Department: Digital Marketing
Reports To: Marketing Manager / Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement on-page, off-page, and technical SEO strategies tailored to client industries.
  • Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.

On-Page Optimization

  • Optimize website content, meta tags, headings, internal linking, and URL structures.
  • Work with developers/designers to implement best SEO practices in website architecture and UX.

Off-Page & Link Building

  • Build high-quality backlinks through ethical link-building strategies.
  • Manage outreach campaigns and guest posting opportunities.

Technical SEO

  • Conduct regular SEO audits and resolve issues such as crawl errors, site speed, mobile-friendliness, indexing problems.
  • Implement structured data (schema) where relevant.

Content Collaboration

  • Suggest content topics based on keyword opportunities and SEO trends.
  • Collaborate with content writers to ensure SEO-friendly content creation.

Local SEO Management

  • Create, optimize, and manage Google Business Profiles (Google My Business) for clients.
  • Ensure consistent NAP (Name, Address, Phone) citations across online directories.
  • Post regular updates, offers, and news on Google Business Profiles.
  • Monitor and respond to customer reviews to enhance reputation.
  • Track local rankings and optimize for “near me” and geo-specific searches.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor performance using tools like Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.
  • Prepare monthly reports on keyword rankings, organic traffic, and ROI for clients.

Stay Updated

  • Keep up with latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry best practices.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of SEO principles (on-page, off-page, technical).
  • Experience with SEO tools (Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs/SEMrush, Screaming Frog).
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS basics (for communicating with developers).
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms like WordPress, Shopify, etc.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and make decisions.
  • Good communication skills for client interaction and reporting.

KPIs

  • Growth in organic traffic and local impressions.
  • Improvement in local keyword rankings (Maps & Search).
  • Increased engagement on Google Business Profiles (calls, direction requests).
  • Number & quality of backlinks.
  • Timely delivery of reports and measurable action plans.
