SEO Strategy Manager (In-House)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced SEO Manager to serve as the internal authority on search engine optimization and to oversee our external SEO agencies. This role is focused on strategy, analysis, and accountability, ensuring our SEO partners deliver measurable results.
This is not a content-creation role. Instead, the SEO Manager will evaluate agency strategies, monitor performance metrics, and ensure our SEO investments produce consistent growth in rankings, traffic, and qualified leads.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the internal SEO expert for the organization.
- Manage relationships with external SEO agencies and vendors.
- Hold agencies accountable to KPIs such as rankings, traffic growth, backlinks, and conversions.
- Conduct regular SEO audits to verify agency work and identify opportunities.
- Analyze website performance using tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Screaming Frog.
- Review technical SEO recommendations and coordinate implementation with developers.
- Evaluate backlink strategies and monitor link quality.
- Perform competitor analysis and identify new keyword opportunities.
- Produce monthly performance reports and recommendations for leadership.
- Ensure agencies follow ethical SEO practices and Google guidelines.
- Recommend changes to improve site architecture, page speed, and crawlability.
- Coordinate SEO initiatives with internal marketing, development, and leadership teams.

Qualifications
- Preferably 3 years of experience in SEO strategy, technical SEO, or SEO management
- Experience managing or working with SEO agencies
- Strong understanding of:
- Technical SEO
- Keyword strategy
- On-page and off-page SEO
- Search algorithm updates
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret SEO data
- Experience with SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog)
- Experience working with CMS platforms and web development teams is a plus
Preferred Experience
- Experience overseeing SEO for high-competition industries
- Experience managing multi-location or service-based SEO campaigns
- Ability to translate SEO data into clear business recommendations
Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
