Position Overview
The Server plays a key role in providing exceptional guest experiences at Ossobuco. This position requires a warm, engaging personality, deep product knowledge, and the ability to anticipate guest needs in a high-energy, upscale casual dining environment. The Server represents the spirit of Ossobuco—passionate, professional, and dedicated to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and courteously, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Accurately take orders and enter them into the POS system (Toast).
- Coordinate service with runners, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Ensure all dishes meet Ossobuco’s presentation and quality standards before serving.
- Anticipate guest needs, handle requests with urgency and care, and resolve concerns promptly.
- Monitor tables to ensure a seamless dining experience from start to finish.
- Process payments accurately and balance cash/credit transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned sections and service stations.
- Follow company policies regarding alcohol service, safety, and hygiene.
- Uphold Ossobuco’s standards of hospitality, teamwork, and integrity at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Server in a full-service or fine-casual restaurant preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food, wine, and craft cocktails is a plus.
- POS experience (Toast or similar) preferred.
- Must have or be able to obtain required food handler and alcohol service certifications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Frequent bending, lifting, and carrying trays up to 25 lbs.
- Professional appearance and grooming consistent with Ossobuco’s standards.
