Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Square
  • Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
  • Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining proper food handling and sanitation standards
  • Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including cashiering and processing payments
  • Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to uphold sanitation standards
  • Use reservation systems like OpenTable to manage bookings and optimize seating arrangements for smooth service flow
  • Foster positive guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders in an upscale casual dining setting
  • Support team members with food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and overall restaurant operations

Skills

  • Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments
  • Proficiency with POS systems such as Square
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest rapport quickly
  • Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
  • Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities
  • Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation management tools is a plus
  • Culinary experience or kitchen knowledge is a plus for better coordination with kitchen staff
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and order calculations
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed in a restaurant setting
