Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus confidently, providing detailed descriptions of dishes and specials.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery.
- Upsell menu items and suggest pairings to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently, maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and sanitation.
- Manage guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience.
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering procedures, including cash handling and basic math calculations.
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining sanitation standards in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Use reservation management tools like OpenTable to coordinate seating arrangements during busy hours.
- Support host/hostess duties when needed by managing waitlists and guiding guests to their tables smoothly.
- Maintain a lively atmosphere by engaging with guests, promoting specials, and encouraging repeat visits.
Experience
- Previous restaurant or food service experience is preferred, especially in fine dining or nightclub settings.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to connect positively with diverse guests.
- Experience in food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety standards is essential.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while multitasking seamlessly.
- Knowledge of food industry terminology including food preparation, upselling techniques, and guest relations.
- Host/hostess or serving experience that demonstrates excellent communication skills is a plus.
