Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations using OpenTable or similar systems
  • Seat guests promptly and provide menus, highlighting specials and upselling opportunities to enhance their experience
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
  • Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation
  • Assist with bussing tables, resetting dining areas quickly to accommodate new guests
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties
  • Maintain cleanliness of host stand, dining areas, and service stations in compliance with sanitation standards
  • Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation or food handling tasks when needed
  • Provide exceptional guest services by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and fostering guest relations
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations during busy nights or events such as nightclub evenings

Skills

  • Proven experience as a server in a restaurant or food service environment
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for reservations and order processing
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor
  • Ability to upsell menu items confidently to increase sales opportunities
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables or guests efficiently during peak hours
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and billing accuracy
  • Experience in fine dining settings or nightlife venues is a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment
  • Kitchen experience or culinary background is beneficial but not required; enthusiasm for the food industry is essential
