Position Overview

Ames Golf & Country Club is seeking a professional and service-driven Server/Bartender to deliver exceptional dining and beverage service in an upscale, private club environment. This dual-role position requires a hospitality professional who values consistency, discretion, and personalized service while upholding the traditions and standards of a member-focused club.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide elevated food and beverage service to club members and their guests
• Serve as both a dining room server and bartender based on operational needs
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with club standards
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely, polished service
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of menus, daily specials, wines, spirits, and classic cocktails
• Anticipate member preferences and deliver personalized, attentive service
• Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold private club service etiquette
• Ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with state laws and club policies
• Accurately process orders, payments, and member charges using the POS system
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and bar areas at all times
• Assist with service for banquets, tournaments, and special club events
• Collaborate effectively with culinary staff, servers, bartenders, and management

Requirements:

• Prior serving and bartending experience required; private club or fine dining experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of classic cocktails, wine service, and formal dining standards
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Polished appearance, professionalism, and discretion
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-service environment
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
• Must meet state age requirements for alcohol service
