The Role

We are looking for an energetic and versatile Server/Barista to join our front-of-house team. At Ficus, this is a unique hybrid role. You won’t just be taking orders and running food; you will also be the creative force behind our beverage program. From guiding guests through our Korean-American menu in our dining room to shaking up a mocktail or brewing an espresso for guests in our lounge, you will be essential to delivering a flawless, memorable experience.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Guest Experience: Warmly greet guests, guide them through our menu, and answer questions about ingredients and our unique flavor profiles.
  • Order & Service: Take accurate food and beverage orders, process payments efficiently, and deliver dishes to tables across both our first-floor lounge and second-floor dining room.
  • Beverage Crafting: Expertly prepare a diverse menu of high-quality beverages, including creative mocktails, specialty coffees, authentic boba teas, and fresh smoothies.
  • Quality Control: Ensure every drink and dish meets Ficus's standards for taste, temperature, and visual presentation.
  • Team & Floor Maintenance: Keep the lounge, dining areas, and beverage stations clean, fully stocked, and organized. Communicate clearly with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
  • Support Sustainability: Participate in our kitchen's no-waste and sustainability initiatives by following proper prep and disposal procedures.

What We’re Looking For (Requirements)

  • Experience: Previous experience as a server, barista, or bartender is highly preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with a great attitude!
  • Multitasking Pro: Ability to seamlessly switch between taking food orders and crafting detailed beverages during busy service hours.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Note: As a two-story restaurant, you must be comfortable navigating stairs frequently during your shift.
  • Passion for Food: An interest in Korean-American cuisine and a desire to learn about our menu.
  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and a friendly, guest-first approach.
