Service Center Manager - Agriculture/Heavy Equipment Operations

Travel Required: Occasional local/regional. Domestic and international as required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Oxbo is a global leader in niche market design, manufacture and distribution of innovative harvesting equipment and related products for the berry, coffee, field corn, forage, fresh market vegetable, processed vegetable, seed, and vineyard markets.

We are in search of a strong leader to manage all aspects of our service center in Shipshewana IN.

OVERALL SITE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage site staffing requirements to meet both in and off season demand.
  • Develop, maintain, and adhere to a priority system for scheduling all customer and internal service work.
  • Customer service quoting and scheduling work in the shop and offsite for technicians.
  • Responsible for the financial success of the location.
  • Meet/exceed OSHA standards to create a safe and healthful work environment.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and operated in a safe and courteous manner
  • Maintain/exceed good housekeeping standards to ensure good appearance and safe work environment
  • Plan and manage the proper level of tooling/supplies to meet the activity of location
  • Continually strive for meeting/exceeding customer expectations.
  • Manage and control OXBO assets (Facility, Tooling, Equipment, etc.).
  • Create/provide input to strategies for parts/service programs and service contracts.
  • Develop, manage and monitor capital budgets to actuals and justify capital investment required for the operation.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with customers and other industry contacts.
  • Drives lean principles (5S) and develops a culture of “Continuous Improvement”.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong operations experience in a service center or related environment.
  • Specialized experience and knowledge of the Agriculture Business, Agronomy, Agriculture Science, Ag Mechanization, or a closely related field of expertise are desirable.
  • Disciplined self-starter with excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence but also foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strong leadership experience, skills and presence. Must be able to effectively interact and lead staff and create a collaborative culture.
  • Above average problem solving skills, verbal/written skills and presentation skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Willingness/ability to work long hours based on the seasonality of the business.
  • Able to work in all types of weather conditions and temperatures and physically able to perform hands-on operation of equipment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Business, Agronomy, Agriculture Science, Ag Mechanization, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership position in Agriculture equipment manufacturing/distribution/service industry or equivalent exp.
  • Experience with ERP and Service Order systems, or a similar management tool is highly desirable.
