Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Service Desk Technician to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to our users, ensuring that all IT-related issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of computer systems, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware and software issues across various operating systems, including Microsoft Windows and macOS.
 - Troubleshoot and resolve desktop support issues, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
 - Manage user accounts and permissions using Active Directory.
 - Assist with VPN connectivity issues and firewall configurations.
 - Conduct software troubleshooting for applications within the Microsoft Office suite and other enterprise software.
 - Maintain accurate records of support requests in ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or Jira.
 - Perform analysis of recurring issues to identify trends and recommend solutions.
 - Support network connectivity issues, including TCP/IP, DNS, LAN configurations, and computer networking tasks.
 - Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless service delivery and escalate complex issues as needed.
 - Stay updated on the latest technology trends and best practices in IT support.
 
Skills
- Proficient in desktop support with a strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Server environments.
 - Experience with technical support roles in an IT help desk setting.
 - Familiarity with SCCM for software deployment and management.
 - Knowledge of Linux operating systems is advantageous.
 - Strong analytical skills to diagnose problems effectively.
 - Excellent communication skills to interact with users at all levels of the organisation.
 - Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
 - Understanding of computer hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
