Service Engineer

The Opportunity

The SLA Service Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and executing both planned and preventive maintenance activities for ADB Safegate products and systems, with a primary focus on Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) and Visual Docking Guidance Systems (VDGS) installed at Istanbul Airport. This role involves the remote and on-site supervision of maintenance operations, ensuring all service level agreements (SLAs) are met. The engineer will coordinate and perform system checks, troubleshooting, commissioning, and testing of equipment, working closely with on-site teams and technical staff. The SLA Service Engineer will play a pivotal role in maintaining the reliability and optimal performance of critical airport infrastructure, contributing to safe and efficient airport operations.

You will make an impact by….

• Maintain seamless coordination between various teams and systems, ensuring effective integration across fields such as ILCMS, ALCMS, and the VDGS SAM System.
• Personally perform required system tests and take responsibility for the proper execution of all activities related to maintenance, commissioning, and testing.
• Prepare comprehensive maintenance plans for the customer, collaborating with internal teams to collect individual maintenance schedules and consolidate maintenance reports for presentations.
• Plan, schedule, and organize test and commissioning activities in alignment with customer requirements, considering the impact on airport operations. Secure and validate necessary timeslots in coordination with IGA AGL and VDGS Maintenance Teams.
• Act as a key point of contact for the customer regarding maintenance, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring clear and effective communication at all stages.
• Demonstrate creativity and autonomy in overcoming technical and operational challenges, proactively defending the ADB Safegate’s interests in all situations.

The talent we want to inspire has...

Technical Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related technical field.
• Solid understanding of Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL), Integrated Lighting Control & Monitoring System (ILCMS), Advanced Lighting Control & Monitoring System (ALCMS), and Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS).
• Experience with commissioning, testing, and maintenance of airport systems or similar industrial automation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues quickly and efficiently.

Project & Operations Skills:

• Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating complex activities.
• Experience in preparing and presenting maintenance plans and technical reports to customers.
Ability to assess operational impacts and plan activities around critical airport operations.

Interpersonal &Communication Skills:

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external customers.
• Ability to present information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Personal Attributes:

• High level of autonomy and initiative; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Creative problem-solving skills; able to develop innovative solutions to technical and operational challenges.
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership for the quality and execution of activities.

Other Requirements:

• Willingness and ability to work on-site at Istanbul Airport as needed.

• Fluent English (spoken - written)
