Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Service Responsibilities
- Installation, commissioning, and start-up of air compressors (Screw / Reciprocating / VFD-based systems).
- Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) as per schedule.
- Attend breakdown calls, diagnose faults, and restore compressors to normal operation.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control-related issues.
- Perform overhauling of compressors, motors, and major components.
- Handle VFD-related issues, overload trips, high temperature, pressure, and oil-related alarms.
- Conduct air audits and performance checks when required.
Customer Support & Coordination
- Provide prompt and professional support to customers.
- Explain technical issues and corrective actions to customers clearly.
- Coordinate with the spares, sales, and accounts team for service completion and billing.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and maintain long-term relationships.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare service reports, job cards, and visit reports.
- Update service history, machine data, and spare consumption records.
- Follow safety guidelines and company service protocols at all times.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to safety norms at customer sites.
- Ensure proper use of tools, PPE, and standard operating procedures.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of air compressors and compressed air systems.
- Good understanding of electrical panels, motors, starters, and VFDs.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Willingness to travel and work at customer sites.
Qualification & Experience
- Education: Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
- Experience:
- 2–5 years (for Service Engineer)
- Freshers with relevant training can also be considered.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with brands like Atlas Copco, Kaeser, Ingersoll Rand, ELGi, Kirloskar, etc.
- Hands-on experience in industrial compressor servicing.
