Job Summary

Greenhouse needs Delivery Drivers for Spring shipping! Plants are shipped on rolling carts in 26 ft long Penske rental trucks, on lift gate. Deliveries Suffolk, Nassau, CT and Westchester. Most shifts starting 5am, some 10 am

CDL not required but is a plus. Greenhouse experience preferred but TRUCK SAFETY and CUSTOMER SERVICE are our highest concerns.

All positions REQUIRE a DOT medical or the ability to obtain it immediately once hired.

Salary range from $25-$27 per hour. Pay rate based on experience and capability. Part-time/ Full-time needed for plant season Early April-August.

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle heavy lifting and moving tasks. As a Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Operate a box truck or other delivery vehicles to transport goods safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload products using appropriate equipment, lift gate
• Ensure all deliveries are made on time while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or issues encountered.
• Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates on delivery status and address any concerns.
• Checking in orders and responding to discrepancies and returns, keeping notes on invoice for office and billing
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation. All vehicle inspection reports to be turned in end of days activities and problems reported to management immediately.

Skills

• Proven experience as a delivery driver, with knowledge of commercial driving regulations.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks as required by the job.
• Familiarity with operations and logistics processes.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with clients.
• Proficient in using a pallet jack and other loading/unloading equipment.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
