Service Manager - Heavy Vehicle

The Service Manager required to oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our Heavy Vehicle transport fleet and managing workshop operations, ensuring vehicle efficiency, and leading a team of technicians to maintain high safety and performance standards.

Key Tasks:

• Oversee daily workshop activities, maintenance and repairs of Heavy vehicles.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules for trucks, buses, and other fleet vehicles.
• Ensure all vehicles comply with safety regulations and company standards.
• Manage and lead a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff.
• Assign tasks, provide training, and monitor staff performance.
• Ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues in fleet vehicles.
• Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
• Maintain records of vehicle service history and repairs.
• Monitor workshop expenses and optimize cost-effective repair solutions.
• Manage and process warranty claims for vehicle repairs and follow up with manufacturers or suppliers.
• Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability and reducing waste.
• Negotiate with suppliers for quality parts at competitive prices.
• Ensure workshop operations comply with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety procedures.
• Promote a culture of safety among workshop staff.

Required Qualifications :

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a service management role, preferably in a transport or logistics company
• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair procedures, and workshop management systems
• Ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth operations
• Quick decision-making skills for resolving technical issues and workflow challenges
• Proficiency in maintenance management software
• Iveco dealerships experience desirable
