Role Overview
The Generator Engineer will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining generator sets and related electrical/mechanical systems to ensure continuous and reliable operation for customer sites and rental fleets. The role requires strong hands-on technical skills, troubleshooting ability, and responsiveness to field service demands.
Key Responsibilities

Perform troubleshooting, repair, and scheduled preventive maintenance on diesel and gas generator sets (various brands such as Perkins, Cummins, FG Wilson, etc.)

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system faults using appropriate testing tools and software

Inspect and replace defective parts including alternators, control panels, engines, and fuel systems

Conduct load testing, synchronization, commissioning, and installation of generator units at customer sites

Ensure proper calibration and setup of AMF/ATS panels and remote monitoring systems

Maintain service reports and documentation – job cards, maintenance logs, spare parts usage, etc.

Coordinate with Service Supervisor and Parts team to ensure availability of materials and timely delivery of service

Respond to breakdowns and emergency service calls on-site across UAE/Oman

Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and company maintenance procedures

Provide technical support and training to junior technicians/operators as needed
Skills & Experience Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related technical field

3–7 years of hands-on experience in service and repair of diesel generator sets (rental industry preferred)

Strong expertise in troubleshooting engines, alternators, ATS/AMF panels, and control systems (Deep Sea, ComAp, etc.)

Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals

Familiar with load bank testing and synchronization practices

Valid UAE driving license is an advantage

Strong communication and customer handling skills

Ability to work independently under pressure and in field conditions
