Setter Out – Joinery (Cutting List)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cutting lists from approved joinery shop drawings
• Interpret architectural, interior, and joinery drawings accurately
• Break down drawings into panels, components, hardware, and finishes
• Calculate material quantities for MDF, plywood, veneer, laminate, solid wood, and boards
• Coordinate with production, CNC, and workshop teams to ensure clarity and accuracy
• Optimize cutting layouts to reduce material wastage
• Prepare material requisitions and support procurement as required
• Revise cutting lists based on design changes or site feedback
• Maintain proper documentation and version control
• Support cost control and production planning through accurate data

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years experience as a Joinery Setter Out / Cutting List Engineer
• Strong knowledge of custom joinery and furniture manufacturing
• Excellent understanding of joinery drawings and detailing
• Experience with panel breakdowns, edging, hardware, and fittings
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Familiarity with Excel for calculations and lists
• Knowledge of CNC machining workflows is an advantage
• Good coordination skills with designers, engineers, and workshop team
