Sexual Assault Response Coordinator

Job Overview

The Sexual Assault Response Coordinator plays a vital role in providing comprehensive advocacy and support services to survivors of sexual assault. This position is responsible for developing coordinating and managing programs focused on prevention response and recovery while ensuring services are accessible culturally responsive and trauma informed. The Coordinator collaborates closely with community partners oversees volunteers and manages administrative functions to foster a safe supportive and survivor centered environment.

This role requires a strong understanding of sexual assault dynamics and the consistent exercise of discretion sound judgment and professionalism. The work is primarily intellectual and varies based on individual client needs. The ability to work independently is essential. Local travel to neighboring counties hospitals and partner agencies is required including availability outside standard business hours and during on call coverage.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Work weekly from both the LCSH Shelter and Outreach Center
Be available as an on call sexual assault advocate during all hours as scheduled
Work collaboratively within a team environment demonstrating flexibility respect and active listening
Coordinate schedule and support sexual assault response volunteers
Provide crisis counseling emotional support safety planning and referrals to survivors of sexual assault
Respond to hotline calls and connect callers with appropriate resources and services
Provide advocacy during forensic exams law enforcement interviews prosecuting attorney meetings court proceedings victim impact statements and crime victim reparations applications
Provide ongoing case management including assistance with counseling housing emergency financial needs and other supportive services
Explain the criminal justice process and prosecution procedures in a clear survivor centered manner
Attend interagency meetings trainings and workshops as directed by the supervisor
Train staff on relevant topics including guidance from ACASA and other advocacy organizations
Maintain accurate confidential records of hotline calls services provided criminal cases and client information
Submit reports accurately and on time to the supervisor
Attend team meetings staff meetings supervision and all required trainings
Build and maintain strong working relationships with local hospitals and medical providers
Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to support coordinated response efforts
Complete occasional overnight shelter coverage as needed
Share relevant awareness and prevention content through approved social media platforms

Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong leadership and management skills with experience in program development and program oversight
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities and diverse populations
Excellent relationship building skills to foster collaboration across community partners and systems
Solid administrative skills including documentation report writing and basic budgeting
Background in social work behavioral health or a related field with an emphasis on trauma informed care
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy professionalism confidentiality and discretion

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
