The Center for People with Disabilities in Qatar is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Shadow Teacher to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual passionate about supporting students with special needs to achieve academic and personal growth in an inclusive educational environment.

Position Overview:

The Shadow Teacher will provide individualized, one-on-one support to students with special needs within the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, parents, and specialists to ensure the effective implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and foster an environment that promotes learning, development, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized classroom support to students with special needs.
  • Assist students in completing academic tasks, ensuring understanding and engagement.
  • Implement and adapt IEPs according to each student's unique learning profile.
  • Support the development of students' social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Monitor, document, and report on student progress, including behavioral and academic data.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings, team planning sessions, and case conferences.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and stakeholders regarding student development and challenges.
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and strategies in special education.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with special needs in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Experience with IEP implementation and progress monitoring.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to fostering student success.
