Job Purpose:

Assess the continuity and conformity level of Shari’a rules & principles throughout the Shari’a tasks assignments in order to provide a reasonable assurance to the management that Shari’a compliance is achieved and all the Sharia risks are mitigated to an acceptable residual level.

  • Assists Sharia line manager in answering the daily inquires pertains to the bank’s overall consultations.
  • Assists in initial drafting; review; and approve newly finance structuring, restructuring for overall Banking transactions; DSU; Micro Finance; Retail operation and Risk; Retail products; Administration; HR; It; Marketing; and associate companies like Adilease as well; within the determined timing standards; and according to approving authority matrix.
  • Assists Sharia Manager in achieving the compliant of Shari’s principles in Bank’s overall transactions; activities and services.
  • Assists Sharia Manager in Review and approve the bank’s policy and procedures mainly for treasury products; Investment funds; financial statements; retail banking consultations; and associate companies; as he will initiate and provide them with sharia guidelines and opinions.
  • Assists Sharia Manager in Review and approve the new amendments to bank’s contracts weather additions or deletions according to Sharia standard s.
  • Assists Sharia Manager in Follow up for all sharia board resolutions belong to his assigned tasks as explained above; and liaise with all related departments to ensure perfect implementations.
  • Assists Sharia Manager in meeting with internal and external parties to explain them the approvals and solve the overall constraints and follow up to ensure perfect sharia implementation to overall sharia decisions and resolutions.

  • Achieves high standards of behavioural competencies according to the competencies defined by the line management (as per the Assignment Performance Appraisal related to his manager). Consult with his Line Manager on the competencies below standards.
  • Keeps a constructive working relationship with Shari’a team members and internal and external clients in order to achieve the overall objectives.
  • Maintains excellent teamwork environment and team spirit.
  • Achieves very good knowledge of ADIB Sharia processes, policy & procedures and AAOIFI/F&SSB standards.
  • Understands/improves working knowledge on all automated Shari’a Management tools.
  • Maintain very good efficient and professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Whenever requested by Manger of Sharia secret Board or his direct manger, review new and/or changes to bank’s policies and procedures (related to Shari’a) in order to evaluate the Shari’a control adequacy and related risk mitigation.
  • Ensures that paper-based working papers and other Shari’a audit documents are adequately protected and secured throughout the assignment.
  • Complies with any additional tasks which could be assigned by the Team Leader/line management.
  • Complies with the Shari’a Board’s resolutions in the structuring & review of documents; and providing consultations.
  • Assist in Conducting special meeting discussion to special SB resolutions; and assist also in supporting Gen SB secretary to extend training sessions on certain SB resolutions training/workshops whenever needed.
  • As and when requested, participate in meetings, serving/responding to internal/external queries and/or questions, consultations, other requirements.
  • Whenever requested by line management, assist in review new and/or changes to bank’s policies and procedures (related to Shari’a) in order to evaluate the Shari’a control adequacy and related risk mitigation.
  • Assist the line management (when requested) in updating the annual Shari’a manual.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Academic and professional qualifications

The candidate must hold Bachelor of Sharia; Sharia & Law; Faculty of Commerce Al Azhar University English section/MBA in Islamic Banking/ Holder of any Islamic Banking famous certificate like: AAOIFI CSAA & CIPA; postgraduate in Islamic studies.
