SCOPE OF WORK: The OVW Shelter Manager will be responsible for operation and management of an emergent, secure shelter facility serving abused Women and their Children, including supervision, monitoring, confidential reporting and support services. The OVW Women’s Shelter is located within the Boundaries of the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish an emergent and secure shelter in accordance with the Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) Guidelines.
- Develop, implement and track direct service indicators and monitor progress on outcomes based on funding requirements.
- Manage direct service budget in accordance with funding and compliance requirements.
- Maintain complete and accurate data records and statistical information for required reporting purposes; prepare and submit necessary reports as required
- Develop and implement direct service policy and procedures, establish a plan to evaluate services and identify resource needs.
- Conduct case management services of shelter residents.
Develop and implement safety and security procedures for shelter staff, clients and volunteers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two (2) year degree in Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice or other related degree
Valid driver’s license
SHIFT: Ability to work eight (8) hour shifts during a 24 Hour Period and assist in emergency situations, beyond the standard tour of duty, after hours and weekends.
TESTING AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
Subject to pre-employment, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.
Tribal, State, and Federal background investigation and MVR screening required.
HIRING PREFERENCES:
Qualified applicants who are enrolled members of a federally recognized Tribe will receive Native American preference.
Qualified applicants will receive Veteran’s Preference with submission of proof of honorable military service (e.g., DD-214).
