This position is a part-time grade 1, bargaining unit position with a pay rate beginning at $11.00 per hour. Applicants should be friendly, customer-service driven, detail-oriented, with the ability to work alone efficiently. This position reports to the Materials Management Manager. Immediate Supervisor: Department Manager
Basic Function:
Performs routine and nonprofessional work in the library such as shelving, and maintaining books and other library materials in proper order. Position may be full or part time and is determined by the needs of the library.
Distinguishing Features of the Class:
This classification performs routine work in shelving library materials in a safe, accurate and efficient manner. Employees assigned to this class are required to provide service in accordance with the Library’s mission, core values, and strategic plan.

Student applicants must be at least 16 years old and be able to submit a complete minor work permit. Adult applicants must have a high school education or equivalent. Applicants must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions, complete forms, and understand and communicate instructions.

GENERAL REQUIREMENT FOR ALL LIBRARY EMPLOYEES
All Mentor Public Library employees are expected to have and maintain good interpersonal and communication skills; maintain a tolerance and sensitivity to the needs of patrons and staff; maintain a positive and pleasant attitude, and be co-operative with co-workers. All employees shall adhere to the Library's policies and procedures and support the Library's mission within the Library and in the community. Employees shall have regular attendance, be flexible with regards to scheduling which includes daytimes, evening, and weekend hours; and be in adequate physical condition to fulfill the requirements of the job.
