Join a leading Operations & Maintenance team supporting one of Saudi Arabia’s critical
CCGT power facilities
. As Shift Charge Engineer, you will oversee plant operations during your shift—ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient generation while guiding control room and field teams through start-ups, shutdowns, emergency response, and continuous performance improvement.
What you’ll do:

Lead and supervise all operational activities during the shift, including unit start-ups, shutdowns, equipment changeovers, interlock checks, protection tests, and non-routine operations.

Manage day-to-day performance of CCR Operators, Field Operators, and shift teams to meet operational targets safely and efficiently.

Ensure full adherence to the
Permit-to-Work (PTW)
system; issue and cancel permits as authorized.

Normalize and test equipment after maintenance, verifying readiness for operation.

Coordinate with maintenance, planning, chemistry, and HSE teams to support corrective and preventive activities.

Conduct routine plant inspections to identify abnormalities, hazards, and deviations, and take appropriate corrective actions.

Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support, ensuring quick resolution of operational issues.

Manage commissioning and start-up activities during outages or equipment restoration.

Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all shift activities, including logbooks, status reports, and shift handovers.

Respond to plant emergencies as per the emergency response plan until relieved by senior authority.

Promote a strong HSSE culture, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

Mentor, coach, and develop shift team members to enhance operational capability and performance.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
What we’re looking for:
-
Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering
or
Technical Diploma
in a related discipline.

5–7 years’ experience
in power generation (preferably
CCGT
) with a Bachelor’s degree, or
10+ years’ experience
with a diploma.
-
Strong knowledge of CCGT equipment: gas turbines, HRSG, steam turbine systems, auxiliaries, and associated balance-of-plant.

Solid understanding of operational procedures, start-up/shutdown sequences, emergency protocols, and interlock systems.
-
Experience with
SAP
or similar CMMS preferred.

Working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS/ISO 45001 standards.
-
Excellent troubleshooting, decision-making, and leadership capabilities.

Strong planning, organization, and shift coordination skills.

Effective communication and team collaboration abilities.
