Job Description: Shift Engineer – Mall Operations (Electrical & General Facilities)

Role Overview

The Shift Engineer is responsible for the smooth operation, maintenance, and safety of all electrical, mechanical, and general facilities within the mall premises. The role includes supervising technicians, ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance, and responding promptly to operational issues during the shift.

Key Responsibilities1. Electrical Systems

• Monitor and manage daily operations of all electrical equipment (HVAC panels, LT/HT panels, DG sets, UPS, transformers, elevators, escalators, lighting).
• Conduct preventive maintenance as per schedule and ensure minimal downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and take immediate corrective action.
• Maintain daily logbooks of meter readings, power consumption, DG operations, etc.

2. Mechanical & Utilities

• Oversee HVAC systems, pumps, fire pumps, AHUs, ventilation systems, and water supply systems.
• Ensure all mechanical equipment is functioning efficiently and safely.

3. Fire & Safety Systems

• Monitor fire alarm systems, sprinklers, hydrants, extinguishers, and emergency lighting.
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Coordinate during fire drills and emergency situations.

4. General Mall Operations

• Supervise technical staff and contractors during the shift.
• Coordinate with housekeeping, security, and retail tenants for operational issues.
• Ensure smooth functioning of escalators, lifts, lighting, parking systems, and common-area facilities.

5. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain shift reports, breakdown logs, and maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and safety norms.
• Escalate major faults or risks to the Facility Manager.

6. Customer & Tenant Support

• Attend to tenant complaints related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or general operations.
• Ensure timely closure of service requests.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical with strong electrical experience.
• 5–10 years of experience in mall operations, commercial facility management, or large buildings.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical skills across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire systems.
• Ability to handle shift responsibilities independently.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Shift & Working Conditions

• Rotational shifts (Morning/Evening/Night).
• On-call availability for emergencies.
• Ability to supervise technicians and coordinate with multiple departments.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
