Position Summary

We are looking for a responsible, driven Shift Lead to join our growing team. Shift Leads are critical to driving operational excellence and ensuring a superior guest experience through excellent product, hospitality, and service. This role is responsible for maintaining all standards set forth by the business. Successful candidates will possess strong leadership and communication skills, a friendly and positive attitude, and the ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic, fast-paced workplace.

This position reports to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Operational Leadership & Team Management

• Oversee day-to-day operations to deliver a consistent and excellent product and maintain an enjoyable and welcoming experience for our team and guests.
• Train, coach, and provide constructive feedback to team members on product quality, service standards, and our Espresso program.
• Troubleshoot any operational issues that occur within the business while on duty (e.g., equipment failure, service bottlenecks) and communicate to management in a timely manner.
• Collaborate and continuously communicate with management to keep team morale high and uphold our core company values.

2. Financial & Administrative Management

• Accurately handle cash management duties, including processing payments, counting down registers, and preparing daily deposits.
• Oversee Point of Sale (POS) system accuracy, ensuring proper order entry and transaction flow.
• Assist with inventory tracking and shift log documentation, communicating product needs to management.

3. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Maintain active Food Safety Certification (e.g., ServSafe or NYC food handlers certification) and ensure all team members adhere to health and safety standards.
• Ensure strict adherence to food handling and sanitation protocols to maintain the highest levels of safety and quality control.
• Maintain the weekly cleaning schedule and conduct regular spot-checks to ensure the facility meets all health code and company standards.

Requirements

• Prior hospitality or supervisory experience required.
• Current Food Safety Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain one immediately upon hire).
• Full-time availability; early mornings and weekends are required.
• Reliable transportation to our West Village location
• Proven reliability and strong attention to detail, particularly in cash and inventory handling.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week

Work Location: In person
