3rd Shift Times: Monday - Friday 10:45pm - 7:15am.
Overview:
The Shift Manager serves as the primary operational and people leader for the assigned shift, providing strategic direction and ensuring the effective coordination of all production and personnel activities. This role is responsible for supervising workflow, allocating resources appropriately, and guiding Technical Leads and Operators to maintain safe, efficient, and high-quality operations throughout the shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for shift-level performance, including throughput, quality, adherence, and efficiency metrics.
Coach and develop associates through continuous feedback and personal development conversations.
Own timecard management for all associates on the shift, including timecard sign-off and PTO approval.
· Conduct and manage progressive discipline in alignment with company policies while ensuring consistent administration of all standards and procedures.
Oversee staffing needs, including actively participating in the hiring process as the hiring manager, directing placement of personnel, and reallocating resources as issues arise.
Identify errors, provide corrective coaching, and support Technical Leads and associates.
Complete associate performance reviews, scorecards, and performance documentation.
Review shift data and perform trend analysis to identify performance patterns and improvement opportunities.
Possess a high-level understanding of all work processes.
Build capability to contribute hands-on when necessary to support operations.
Serve as the first point of contact for associate concerns, including interpersonal issues and operational complaints.
Assess issues to determine whether they should be handled directly or delegated to Technical Leads or setup operators.
Ensure Technical Leads are aligned with shift priorities and supported in executing floor-level tasks.
Maintain accountability for adherence to 5S/5B principles while delegating execution to Technical Leads and ensuring compliance.
Ensure safe, organized, and efficient press floor operations throughout the shift.
Coordinate troubleshooting by involving Technical Leads and setup/lead operators as needed.
Collaborate with Continuous Improvement and Quality personnel on NCR entry, training initiatives, quality checks, and process improvement activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for supervising plant operations personnel, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, providing coaching and feedback, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; college degree in a related field preferred or relevant level of experience.
Minimum 5 years of production experience with demonstrated expertise in Flexographic Printing.
Proven experience supervising others.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
· Ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions.
Computer Skills:
· Intermediate computer skills are required.
· Proficiency in operating systems such as Radius.
· Ability to navigate menus, enter data accurately, perform routine system tasks and train others to do so.

Physical Demands:
· The incumbent in this position is regularly required to stand, walk, carry, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use manual dexterity – hand / finger coordination, grasp, reach, and lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· The incumbent in this position is occasionally required to climb, sit for prolonged periods of time and speak / articulate.
· Adherence to mandatory PPE (personal protective equipment) requirements.

Work Environment:
Shift Managers are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and frequently encounter fumes or airborne particles. While the manufacturing area is climate controlled, employees may experience relatively warm or cold temperatures throughout the year. Additionally, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
