Position Title: Shipping Clerk-DC

Position Summary:
The Shipping Clerk is directly responsible for checking drivers in and out, planning picks, planning loads and processing outbound paperwork. Warehouse Management Systems experience, detail orientation, multi-tasking and accurate paperwork are critical to success in the role.
Essential Functions:

Understands the general function of a warehouse management system (WMS) and can follow work instructions well.
- Ensure drivers are checked in timely and with professional communication.

Communicates and works well with the Shipping team.

Follows all safety procedures.

Plans picking and processes orders in the Warehouse Management System expediently, accurately and timely.

Plans outbound loads and processes them in the Warehouse Management System expediently, accurately and timely.

Ensures product has been audited before loading and is loaded on the correct outbound load
- Ensures outbound loads meet optimal cube and weight requirements.

Accurately and efficiently compiles outbound manifests and scans into the system.

Communicates any potential shipping concerns to branches and works with them to resolve issues timely.

Escalates issues, Warehouse Management System problems and process opportunities to Assistant Branch Manager in a timely manner.

Makes sure that low stock/out of stock or other inventory related concerns are communicated to the Inventory Controller.

Performs additional duties, responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Supports Distribution Center cleanliness, organization and success.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:

Minimum 1-year similar experience

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, vendors and buyers.

Ability to calculate figures, and amounts such as ti x hi, total cases per pallets and units per case

Computer Literate

Effective oral and written communication skills.
