Shipping Head / Head Export Logistics & Shipping

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Shipping Execution

• Oversee entire export shipping cycle from factory loading to final BL issuance.
• Plan and schedule container dispatches in coordination with the factory, purchase, and warehouse teams.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, CHA, transporters, and freight forwarders for smooth cargo movement and customs clearance.
• Ensure accurate container stuffing, sealing, and documentation as per order and destination requirements.
• Verify and approve shipping instructions, draft BLs, invoices, and packing lists before submission.
• Track each shipment through vessel cut-offs, sailing, and BL release.
• Maintain shipment trackers, status updates, and ensure all timelines are met.

Team & Vendor Management

• Lead the shipping and documentation team, ensuring discipline, accuracy, and follow-through.
• Negotiate freight rates and vessel space with forwarders and shipping lines.
• Ensure proper coordination with CHA and transporters for customs clearance and timely gate-in.
• Review and approve freight invoices, debit/credit notes, and vendor payments.

Compliance & Reporting

• Monitor and control detention, demurrage, and freight cost efficiency.
• Maintain MIS reports on freight rates, shipment performance, and vendor evaluation.
• Resolve any operational issues and ensure zero delays in dispatch or documentation.

Candidate Profile

• Education: Graduate / Postgraduate in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain, or International Trade.
• Experience: 8–15 years in export shipping/logistics, with minimum 3 years in a senior/lead role.
• Industry Preference: Export houses, FMCG trading companies, or freight forwarding firms.
• Must Have: Proven experience managing factory-to-BL operations.
