BRT Extrusions is looking for an experienced Shipping and Logistics Coordinator to join our Production Control department.
Reporting to the Master Scheduler, the Shipping and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating outbound shipments across a dynamic and complex system. This role works closely with Production Control, Packing, Sales, and Logistics partners to ensure efficient load planning, on-time deliveries, and cost-effective freight consolidation.
This position plays a critical role in supporting production flow by aligning completed orders with transportation availability while maintaining clear communication across departments.
- Schedule outbound shipments for finished goods across multiple customers and destinations.
- Coordinate with freight brokers to secure trucks and transportation capacity.
- Consolidate orders into optimized truckloads to minimize freight cost and maximize load efficiency.
- Ensure shipments are scheduled according to production completion and customer requirements.
- Review completed orders and coordinate loads based on due dates, freight routes, and customer delivery windows.
- Maintain visibility of upcoming shipments and adjust schedules as production changes.
- Communicate shipment plans with packing and shipping departments to ensure proper preparation of loads.
Cross-Department Communication
- Work closely with Production Control to align shipment schedules with production completion.
- Coordinate with Packing to ensure orders are ready for shipment.
- Provide shipment updates to Sales and Customer Service when required.
Documentation & System Management
- Verify order shipment details prior to dispatch.
- Assist with data entry and tracking related to outbound logistics, inbound deliveries, and order fulfillment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy with order and shipment information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP and/or MES systems
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics, shipping, or production planning environments
