Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and hands-on Shop Manager to lead daily operations within a welding and fabrication environment specializing in automotive shipping racks (containerization). This role is responsible for overseeing production, managing personnel, ensuring quality standards, and driving operational efficiency while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead, and develop a team of shop employees, fostering accountability, productivity, and positive morale
- Oversee the full production process for automotive shipping racks, ensuring efficient throughput and high-quality output
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet deadlines and customer requirements
- Coordinate workflow, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing production demands in a fast-paced environment
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring availability and accuracy
- Establish and maintain quality control systems, including inspections, process monitoring, and corrective actions
- Ensure all required documentation (including white samples and subassembly control paperwork) is available and followed on the shop floor
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate employees; address attendance, performance, and disciplinary matters as needed
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by enforcing standards and best practices
- Develop and oversee preventative maintenance schedules; ensure equipment uptime and recommend repairs or replacements
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and other departments to support seamless production processes
- Assign and coordinate daily work activities to meet or exceed production targets
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action in alignment with company policies
- Assist with machine setup and ensure proper preparation of materials according to specifications
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Experience in a welding, fabrication, or manufacturing leadership role (automotive or metal fabrication preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Solid understanding of production planning, quality control, and safety standards
- Experience with equipment maintenance and shop operations
- Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
