Shop Welder/Fabricator

We are seeking a new Welder/Fabricator for our shop in Little Chute!

We are seeking an experienced welder / fabricator that enjoys taking projects from start to finish. We take a custom approach to each job which requires versatility and a variety of new challenges every day. The welder/fabricator position is responsible for multi-functions including, but not limited to: welding, fabricating, cutting, fitting, grinding, and assembling equipment.

• Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 40-50 hours per week (schedule may adjust throughout the year based on workload)

What you will be responsible for:

• Be capable of learning and performing multiple functions including but not limited to cutting, welding, fitting, grinding, painting, bending, sheet metal layout and assembly per drawings and verbal instructions.
• Operate various machinery to fabricate structural metal products (shear, press brake, plate roller, notcher, punch).
• Must be able to obtain ASME GMAW/TIG Welding Certification.
• Maintain high levels of quality on all work.
• Follow Lee’s Contracting/Fabricating, Inc. policies and procedures.
• Make decisions for the good of the company. Must be open minded to suggestions and feedback. Must be respectful and courteous to fellow employees.
• Work independently with little guidance. Stay on task and focused. Keep visiting to a minimum and in good business taste.
• Use of company supplied equipment is for business purposes only. Treat and maintain equipment, tools and shop with care and respect.

• Must be dependable and reliable.
• Must observe and follow all safety regulations and procedures (Including wearing PPE required for tasks such as ear, eye, toe, and respirator).

What qualifications we are looking for:

• 2 years’ experience in welding and fabricating steel or equivalent technical schooling. (Ability to demonstrate proficiency is acceptable.) May be subject to an onsite welding proficiency test as condition of employment.
• Proficient in MIG, TIG on stainless, carbon and aluminum for structural and pipe assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and follow technical specifications. Plan and layout work from start to finish.
• Perform ASME Code TIG, purge and stick welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Examine completed welds to ensure they are free of defects, smooth and functional.
• Have strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Be able to follow verbal and written directions/instructions.
• Safety first mentality with ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, scissor lifts, etc.
• Ability to calculate material measurements to verify specifications.
• Detail oriented with good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including confined space work, temperature extremes and heights. (Includes: twisting, squatting, lifting/carrying 50 lbs., pushing/pulling, bending, and standing for long periods of time.)
• Able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and sense of teamwork.
• Possess quick thinking and problem-solving mindset.
• Handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude along with a willingness to learn.
