Overview Of The Role:

  • The Customer Service Assistant at the Information Desk is responsible for overseeing customer interactions and providing comprehensive support to ensure a friendly and professional customer experience. This role involves managing inquiries, complaints, and feedback effectively while representing the IKEA brand. Success in this role relies on maintaining store standards and improving customer satisfaction metrics.

What You Will Do:

Customer Service

  • Greet and welcome customers on arrival at the store.
  • Answer all customer inquiries and provide guidance on shopping with IKEA.
  • Handle routine customer complaints promptly and courteously.
  • Log customer feedback on CRM System to build a knowledge base of frequent complaints and inquiries with relevant solutions.
  • Ensure customers are dealt with professionally to ensure maximum satisfaction.
  • Make announcements and page the person visitors have asked to see.
  • Ensure customers' bags are stored safely and securely.
  • Ensure shopping tools and catalogues are available for customers.
  • Provide bags or trollies as appropriate.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Ensure all system procedures are adhered to as per policy/procedure.
  • Provide Customer Senior with constant suggestions for improvements.
  • Provide customers with catalogues upon request.
  • Understand the impact of increasing sales with Shopping Tools.
  • Communicate with Duty Manager on complaints that require management assistance.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Dealing effectively with customers to enhance satisfaction.
  • Possessing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibiting effective interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrating strategic thinking abilities.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • High School diploma is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role such as Customer Service or Receptionist.
  • Proficiency in dealing with customers, analytical skills, and effective communication.
  • Understanding of customer service principles and ability to implement standard procedures.
