Short-Form Video Editor

We're looking for a short-form video editor who gets it — not just technically, but instinctively. Someone who watches a rough cut and immediately knows what's dragging, what needs more punch, and what's going to make someone stop scrolling instead of blowing past it.
This isn't a one-off gig. We're looking for a long-term creative partner — someone who wants consistent work, a reliable project flow, and the chance to become a real part of how CBT News shows up across every platform we're on.
**Full-time, Remote Position (US ONLY)**
What You'll Do
- Edit and produce short-form video content for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other digital platforms.
- Work directly with our Social Media Director to develop hooks, pacing, and story structures built for retention and engagement.
- Clipping long-form podcast content
- Collaborate with our in-house content team to ensure every video aligns with CBT News's brand voice and creative direction.
- Build motion graphics and animations that add energy, movement, and personality to every cut.
- Add accurate English captions and on-screen text that improve both accessibility and watch time.
- Use b-roll, sound design, music, and transitions to strengthen the story and keep viewers watching.
- Test and refine editing styles and creative approaches based on real platform performance data.
- Maintain fast turnaround times across a high volume of content without sacrificing quality.
- Keep project files organized and deliverables consistent across formats.
What You Bring
- A portfolio showing short-form editing capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and the broader Adobe Creative Suite.
- Motion graphics and animation skills that go beyond templates — you can build assets that feel custom and on-brand.
- A strong grasp of narrative structure, pacing, hooks, and how viewer psychology differs across platforms.
- Experience using captions, b-roll, music, sound effects, and on-screen text as storytelling tools.
- The ability to take creative feedback and implement it quickly without losing momentum.
- Comfortable working remotely within a collaborative team environment.
Pay: $27.60 - $33.23 per hour
