Short Term Consultant: Responsible Finance Specialist

IFC is looking for a Short-Term Consultant- Responsible Finance Specialist to be based in Mumbai, India. The candidate will support the FIG Advisory and Upstream team based out of India, and other regions on Responsible Finance.


What You'll Do:

  • Conduct Responsible Finance (RF) assessments and research
  • Deliver trainings and workshops for financial institutions
  • Support the development of reports, frameworks, and toolkits
  • Monitor program implementation for RF best practices


Disclaimer • This is a temporary position. The envisage start date is September 2026. Grade: C4


Selection Criteria

  • At least 10-12 years of relevant experience in the financial sector, particularly in the areas of customer protection.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing responsible finance standards and best practices, including leading the assessments of responsible finance practices of financial companies (i.e. banks, MFIs, NBFIs, FinTech, other digital finance players).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and sound business judgment to identify issues and present creative and practical solutions.
  • High capacity to adapt and understand the local context to propose tailored-made and realistic solutions/recommendations, which will be aligned with IFC’s business strategy.
  • Facility to work successfully with different financial sector players, such as banks, MFIs NBFIs, and digital finance players.
  • Capacity to respond to clients’ requests in a rapid and flexible manner, to work under pressure, and provide high quality and timely deliverables.
  • Ability to communicate well in English.
